Why I Decided To Do This

Power of the Community

I believe people are good in general. The vast majority of us care about the people around us. In times of need, people come together and do whatever it takes. We have seen this time and time again. Housing is a huge part of our lives. Coming up with rent payments each month can be incredibly stressful. People donate to every kind of charity you can think of. Most of them are fantastic organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives. I believe we can help people become better by offering them free housing for a specific amount of time say 12 months. Or maybe less? If they have a job, this gives them an opportunity to save up some money to hopefully buy their own apartment/house. If they don’t have a job, this at least takes away some of the stress associated with housing costs. Maybe it will help their job search? The power of the community is immense. We have over 320 million people in the United States. An estimated 240 million are over the age of 18. If they all gave a $1, there is no telling how many apartments and houses can be provided for people to jump start their lives. If only 1% of the 240 million gave a single dollar, it is still $2.4 million. Incredible… If 1 out of every 1,000 people gave a $1 we would raise $240,000. A McDonald’s coffee costs more. As I post more and more, I ask you to donate $1. Help me help others.
